In tribal times, young men went through a series of initiations, from boyhood to adulthood, from the adolescent hero to the collective-minded warrior, from the development of their personality to the reclaiming of their unique truth.
The depth of these initiations has been lost over time. Either turning into humilitation-centered "you-can-do-anything-to-me-as-long-as-I-can-then-belong" rites or appearing as the shallow "my first beer with you son" or a first trip to the strip club.
Where is the connection to our depth?
To our essence?
Where is the reclaiming of our deepest parts?
Where is the connection to community created by deep bonds of trust?
Where is the love and support for our unique essence to shine forth?
Versus the habitual demand to belittle ourselves and conform if we want to belong…

There is something sacred that can happen when men gather together. A reminiscing of our time around the fire. A celebration of each other's gifts, greatly needed in this time of collective meltdown…
We need men to step forward.
We need men to reclaim all of themselves.
Through years of team sports and a decade and a half as a fireman, I've witnessed and experienced first-hand the deception of these shallow "initiations".
Deep inside, I craved much deeper bonds with my fellow men, but I never believed it to be truly possible. When I was invited by a friend to attend my first training with Emergence Brotherhood, I didn't think much of the possibilities it could create in my life. But I did feel a deep call inside and decided to go anyway.
I was blown away by the magnitude of the impact a true initiation could have on my life. From feeling accepted and seen by my brothers to learning to ask for support, receive truly, soften, and trust.
Letting go of lone-wolf patterns and beliefs.
Discovering the beauty of collaboration, rising together and emerging with inspiring projects. Feeling worthy from the depth of my being and not from my doing! While allowing and enhancing my capacity for doing, not out of a longing for love but as a liberated form of my natural expression. A journey of reclaiming my authentic self, of stepping into my true purpose. All while encountering a family of brothers to count on, lean into, be inspired by, and grow with.
It was my missing piece.
